I've been in Manitoba for the past week due to my mom's family reunion. Since she's part of a huge family, it was based on her brothers and sister's. I have to admit that Winnipeg is amazing! It's quite like Victoria but looks a lot nicer, and ... more friendly? I guess thats the word I would describe this place. But it IS a big city.
I had to go to Brandon, Manitoba in order to meet the whole family. We had rented a crappy hall where everyone could meet and had a caterer for supper. Now, my mom has a twin sister Sheila(Aunt) and about 13 other siblings. Though she showed me picture of when they were really young. My mother looked like a small tom girl. They all look cute but the saddest thing was realizing that a boy stood in the back of the photo that I didn't recognize. He had to be the best looking out of all the boys and mom told me his name was Alfred. He was her older brother and he was 19 when died in a car accident. I ended up eventually going to his grave which was hidden underneath a really dark tree.
I never got to meet him but then again I never got to see my mother's parents either. My mom was the youngest out of the whole family and it terrible Alfred never go to see his little sister grow up.
... It was really nice seeing everyone though and looking at pictures of me when I was six, ten years ago, at the last reunion I went to. I have a few boy cousins my age, and then a few girl second cousins my age. I used to be real close with my cousin Scott. He's a year younger, but he's taller than me now. We didnt really talk much this time but he seems SO nice and I'd love to spend more time with him.
Unfortunately, I leave tmorrow. I'll be taking a plane to calgary and then another one home. My dad is in calgary too! It sucks that I can't see him while I'm there! wth! Mum said I should just call him and say "Hi. I'm in calgary" But I kinda feel like I'm teasing him? He said he'd try coming out soon. i hope.
Anyways, I'm sitting in a small bar right now in downtown Winnipeg, waiting for my ride to get back. Plus I'm catching up on my Japanese music that I've been missing so much since I got here. I got 300 in my wallet, so I should probably go spending before I leave.
I think the only reason MAINLY why I want to go home is because my baby oreo probably misses me like crazy! (I know thats real nerdy) but I love my fucking cat so much.
I've been trying to practise my Japanese, but I have.. no time. I'm SO busy, but I have been able to play a few games of Shiritori, though, sadly I'm failing which means I'm losing memory of Japanese a little so I need to work a little harder!
So I'll be seein my friends soon! And my boss says I'll be working more! Plus, I gotta try getting that other job I'm planning
Hopefully everything will work out! P.S- (Haeleigh and Jesse just had their birthdays, So I need to get them presents! and then Devon, Mom, Me, and Taylor are all having are birthdays within the next two months. So I'll be spending my money
